Legal & General Retirement America Completes Successful Virtual Charity Giving Campaign for the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford

LGRA employees rally virtually to raise funds and donate food and supplies to the Club and its members ahead of the holiday season

Stamford, CT – December 3, 2020 – Legal & General Retirement America (LGRA) today announced it has raised nearly $4,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford’s ongoing programming efforts through its annual charitable giving campaign. As part of the campaign, LGRA employees also rallied virtually to host a food and supply drive for the Club ahead of the holiday season.

LGRA’s campaign kicked off on October 26 and ran through November 6, 2020 and was part of the larger Legal & General America (LGA) annual charity drive. LGA matches all funds raised and donated by employees during the campaign. In addition to funds raised through two weeks of virtual games and activities, LGRA’s food drive provided Thanksgiving sides to help make up meal baskets for families of Club members. The supply drive supported a donation of school supplies like pens and notebooks to the Club.

“It’s been powerful to see what our employees have been able to accomplish through charitable efforts, especially during a time when we are unable to gather together in person,” said George Palms, president of Legal & General Retirement America. “I am personally thankful for the generosity of all who participated in our charitable giving campaign. LGRA is proud to continue to support the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford in its mission to provide life-changing programs to kids and teens.”

Boys & Girls Club of Stamford CEO Rowena Track said: “LGRA is a longstanding partner to Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. COVID couldn’t stop their dedication to creatively supporting our youth and families. We are so grateful for their commitment to ongoing support.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford fills the gap between home and schools. The non-profit provides welcoming, positive environments in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults.
