Our story

Our parent company, Legal & General Group Plc, was established in 1836 and is one of the world’s leading financial services companies. They've been in the PRT market for over 30 years and have written over 3,500 transactions globally, amassing a global annuity portfolio of $101 billion and servicing over one million annuitants annually.

Legal & General Group leveraged its expertise and long history to expand its reach globally. The US operations now include pensions risk management, investment management and life insurance.

Legal & General America is the unified US brand that includes the PRT and insurance divisions, both of which write business through Banner Life Insurance Company and William Penn Life Insurance Company of New York. Banner Life and William Penn operate as the twin engines of the Legal & General America machine, administering and delivering the highest level of products and customer service. Banner Life operates in 49 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, while William Penn operates in New York. 

Who is LGRA?

Legal & General Retirement America, or LGRA, is the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) division of Legal & General America. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, we have successfully brought Legal & General's global asset management strength, longevity expertise and track record of effective execution to the US.

Our Leadership Team

Elizabeth Rogalin

VP, Head of Finance

Elizabeth Rogalin is VP, Head of Finance for Legal & General Retirement America.  In that role, she oversees financial and management reporting, financial planning and forecasting, and capital.

Elizabeth has over 25 years of experience in the life and annuity industry.  Prior to joining Legal & General Retirement America, Elizabeth served as VP and Chief Actuary for the Retirement Solutions business unit at The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America.  She was responsible for financial reporting and valuation, pricing, risk management and reinsurance for Guardian's individual annuity (including variable, fixed deferred and immediate) and 401(k) products.  Elizabeth began her career at KPMG, where she provided advisory and audit services to US and global insurance entities.  Her experience includes audit, valuation and financial reporting on US statutory, US GAAP, IFRS, economic capital and embedded value bases.

Elizabeth is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Certified Public Accountant. She holds a BA, Summa Cum Laude, in History and French from Boston University, and an MS in Professional Accounting from the University of Hartford.
